Simple Exercises to Improve Your Balance
Jordan leads us through an easy 9-minute at-home exercise routine to improve balance. It is recommended to have a chair or counter available if needed.
Simple Exercises to Improve Your Balance
Improving your balance doesn’t require a long or intense workout. In this quick, beginner-friendly routine, Jordan demonstrates several simple balance exercises you can do at home to improve stability, coordination, and confidence on your feet.
The routine gradually progresses from standing with your feet close together to more challenging movements like single-leg balance, side leg lifts, standing knee raises, tree pose, and opposite arm and leg lifts. Each exercise can be performed for about 30 seconds, and a sturdy chair can be kept nearby for extra support.
These exercises are easy to fit into your day—try them after a walk, in the morning, or whenever you have a few minutes. As your balance improves, you can make the exercises more challenging by using less support, changing your gaze, or carefully adding head movements.
Watch the video above and follow along with Jordan to learn proper technique and see modifications for each exercise. You can also repeat the routine for a second round if you want additional balance practice.
