Card OCR Integration Challenges
On paper it looked like a plug-and-play feature, but once we started testing, small things popped up everywhere. Camera permissions confused some users, older phones struggled with focus, and edge cases like embossed or very glossy cards caused weird results. None of it was a dealbreaker, but it took more tweaking than expected. I’m curious what kinds of issues others ran into during real integrations.

Our main challenges were around UX and edge cases rather than the OCR itself. When we integrated https://ocrstudio.ai/bank-card-scanner/ , the recognition part worked well, but we had to spend time guiding users with visual hints and fallback options. Lighting conditions and card positioning mattered more than we thought. Also, aligning the scanner flow with existing security rules took some coordination. Once those pieces were handled, things smoothed out, but it definitely wasn’t a one-afternoon task.
